Goldman called Citi for merger in September: source (Reuters)

Reuters - Goldman Sachs Chief Executive Lloyd Blankfein called Citigroup Inc head Vikram Pandit last month about a possible merger, but Pandit rejected the proposal, a source familiar with the matter said on Monday.
