Telecoms lift Dow; S&P 500, Nasdaq lower (Reuters)

Reuters - The Dow rose more than 1 percent on Monday in volatile trade on Monday as solid profit from Verizon Communications spurred an advance in the telecoms sector and investors bet efforts to unfreeze credit markets will help restore confidence in the financial system.
